Classroom block

A new classroom block for the P1 class (the youngest class, aged 5-6) is a priority with the yearly intake usually between 150-200 children. Having all these children in a single classroom and with one teacher creates a very challenging learning environment, and many children drop out or attend sporadically as a result.

The Fundo Foundation is funding a new Teaching Assistant at the school in 2025 as a first step, and he will complete his teacher training over the course of the year. We hope to be able to fund more staff for the school in the future as suitable candidates become available.

Draft plans for the construction of a new block of 3 classrooms have been drawn up. We are currently looking to bring the costs down at present to make this achievable, before launching a fundraising campaign for this vital development at the school.

Overcrowded classrooms at Fundo School create a challenging learning environment for pupils and teachers.
