School uniform
Only a small proportion of the children at Fundo School, mainly in the older classes, have school uniform. We are currently developing a partnership with a school in the UK that is changing its uniform to collect and send the previous uniform for the children at Fundo. Only items in good condition will be sent but this will provide uniforms for many of the 788 children registered this year to wear to school.
Very few of the children have proper shoes to wear. One team member who recently visited Fundo described his experience of leading a kicking game with a rugby ball with a group of children. He very quickly realised he was the only one wearing trainers and all the children were trying to kick the ball with bare feet. The partnership with a UK school will also collect shoes and trainers to send for the children to wear.
